We are so grateful that you've come all this way and hope that you are able to take some time to really enjoy your stay in Mexico!

The Yucatan peninsula is incredible and with Mérida as its capital (and considered the safest city in Mexico), there is so much to take advantage of during the long weekend. There are beautiful cenotes and beaches 30 min away that you can visit during the day; Mayan ruins like Chichen-Itza (a UNESCO World Heritage site and a MUST SEE); amazing resort-style and spa haciendas within an hour from town if you want to extend your stay; or cities that you can easily move on to like Cancun, Tulum, or Mexico City -- all offer a different experience of Mexican culture. (Your hotel will be able to set up visits/trips and book you an affordable taxi / car).

Below are some local suggestions if you have downtime in Mérida. Be sure to wander the streets, you won't regret it. Can't wait to see you there!
