There are many beautiful vacation rentals with English-speaking owners and extremely reasonable prices. We recommend staying in the Centro vicinity near our venu or Paseo Montejo.

Mérida International Airport
There are no direct flights from the US unless you are coming from Dallas, Miami or Atlanta. You will have to make one connection either stateside or likely in Cancun or Mexico City.
There is a taxi stand right outside of the airport entrance - buy a ticket from them to get a cab into town. It will cost M$200 (appx $10 USD, same price for hotel pick-up). Rental car services are available at the airport as well (FYI: you dont need one if you are staying in town unless you plan to do day trips on your own)
Getting around town
There are taxi services in town that you can prearrange or wave down (your hotel will be able to help you as well). The Uber app is also an alternative and reliable way to get around the center of the city. We used Uber the entire time we visited, and they were extremely affordable, timely, and reliable. They will also take you to out of city limits but please note that you will not be able to find an Uber to go BACK into the city (pre-arrange a taxi or car service).
