Katherine and Trent met by true romantic kismet, a computer algorithm calculated K&amp;T had a 95% compatibility. Both Katherine and Trent: have bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering, and MBAs; work for the state; have experience in construction; enjoy hiking, golfing, cooking, eating gourmet chocolate, and watching cheesy 80's movies. Trent and Katherine have a six year age difference. Their first date was on 4/22/18 at the Depot Craft Brewery and Distillery in downtown Reno. When they first met, Trent lived in Elko, NV and Katherine lived in Sparks, NV. Their distance apart was a drive of five and a half hours. For eight months K&amp;T drove on weekends to visit each other. In December 2018, Trent transferred his Engineering Manager position to Winnemucca, NV to be a two and a half hour drive away from Katherine. Trent still resides in Winnemucca. After the wedding, K&amp;T are hoping that Trent can transfer his Winnemucca position to Sparks, NV. Since destiny of the internet brought K&amp;T together, we know that the stars will align to bring K&amp;T together in the same city.

Virginia City is a fun old haunted mining town.  Ghost tours are available in the old Washoe Club.  Visitors can sit inside the crypt on the 1st floor of the Washoe club.  Various mining tours are available.  I recommend walking through the old cemetery which is a big tourist attraction.

Squawk Valley held the 1960 Olympic Games.  It is one of the largest ski areas in the USA.  Squaw has summer activities such as tram rides, bike rentals, hiking, dining, and shopping.

The NV state museum explains the history of show girls, mining, gambling, etc.  The current exhibit explains the history of the silver mint.  Tickets are $8 for adults.

The Outlets at Legends is my go to place for casual, business and sports attire sold at low prices.  Check out Scheels and ride the giant Ferris wheel.  My favorite stores are Banana Republic and LOFT.  Trent loves Levi’s.  The Water Bar is on the Marina next to legends and has delicious food and cocktails.  If you eat too much, then the Maria has a 1.5 mile walking trail around the lake to burn off the added calories.

This museum walks the viewer through NV history.  It is an entertaining local stop near the University.

Things to Do

Lisa and Katherine met 12 years ago while working on their MBA degrees at UNR.  When Lisa and Katherine were single, they used to spend their weekends together cooking, baking, and watching movies and theatre productions.  Lisa is the modern day Martha Stewart; she makes her own hand and laundry soaps, candles, and brown sugar and vanilla extract.  Mrs. Schober has been married for five years to her husband Nate.  Lisa and Nate have a nine-month old son named Evan.

Megan and Katherine met in 2010 during a Changing Environments class at UNR.  Megan told Katherine that she plans someday to swim with the sea turtles in Hawaii.  When Megan and Katherine were single, they used to go wine tasting on Friday nights at a Reno winery.  Megan has been married for six years to her husband Kalani.  Megan and Kalani have two children: Liam who is five-years old, and Mila who is four-years old.  The Fernandez family moved from Nevada to Hawaii in 2021 where they can swim with the sea turtles.

Julie and Katherine met 15 years ago in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).  Who says that mechanical and civil engineers can't be friends?  Julie and Katherine ran together in many events such as: Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, CA; Napa Valley Marathon in Napa, CA; and Rock N' River Half Marathon in Reno, NV.  Julie has been married to her husband Ken for 10 years.  They have two children: Wyatt who is eight-years old, and Tyler who is six years-old.

Trevor is Trent's older brother.  Trevor has been a good influence on Trent by encouraging Trent to pursue his career in Civil Engineering, and join the fraternity Archania at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA.  Trevor has a 16-year old son named Ascher and dog named Ace. Trevor's signature sayings are, "You Betcha," and "I'm Out!"  When Trevor is not working at his structural firm, then he is with Ascher and Ace playing golf and tennis.

Ascher is Trent's nephew.  Ascher and Trent spend Ascher's birthdays at the waterslide park in Sparks, NV.  Ascher has an Australian shepherd dog named Ace.  Ascher is 16-years old and enjoys: playing golf, tennis, video games; eating Del Taco, Takis, French fries and chicken fingers; and watching sports.

Katherine and Matt Denio have been good friends for 17 years since college.  Quinn Denio is the youngest son of Matt and Stephanie Denio.   Quinn is five-years-old and has an older brother Declan who is eight-years-old.  Quinn enjoys Paw Patrol, ice cream and shadowing his big brother Declan.

Lauren Mims is Katherine's closest cousin.  Lauren's and Chase’s first born child Adleigh is five-years-old.  Adleigh loves to cook, sing, play with her chickens and goats, and boss around her three-year-old brother.
