Our Wedding

We met in April 2018 on Bumble.&nbsp;I had a puppy, Brady, who was almost a year old, and with that, her fate was sealed.&nbsp;During our first date, I invited her to Bonnaroo – a 4 day music festival in Manchester, TN, and for some reason, she said yes.&nbsp;In the intervening months, we bonded over Taco Bell, and I introduced her to Kewpie mayo.&nbsp;I felt like I understood her immediately – during that first week of texting, I called her a “Fancy Dork,” and, to this day, I’m not sure I could think of a better descriptor of her personality.&nbsp;I was smitten, and while she played it cool, I think she was falling for me as well – although the jury is still out on that one.After Bonnaroo, she hadn’t yet run away screaming, so we did the long-distance dating thing.&nbsp;I would visit her in New York, and she would visit Brady – I mean me – in Nashville.&nbsp;She introduced me to new foods and experiences, and we laughed about the silliest things.&nbsp;Eventually, she moved to Nashville “for work” – at the time, she was adamant that her move had nothing to do with me, and it was just a good job opportunity, but I have since learned that I may have been a factor in that decision.&nbsp;Living near one another only deepened our connection, and while I had to learn a lot about keeping a tidy living space, I have never doubted for a second that this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.&nbsp;I look forward to spending every day forever with my Fancy Dork.

What makes you our people...


Cole and I met when I was five and moved into the house next door to him. I was wearing light up Hot Wheel Velcro shoes, and he was wearing khakis and a polo.  Since then, nothing has really changed.  From beating up a dead tree in our back yard with Renaissance Fair swords to playing World of Warcraft together at 2 am, Cole has been with me my entire life.  While we haven’t achieved our dream of living in adjacent houses connected by a tunnel (yet), every time I see him, it is as natural as it was when we used to hang out for four hours a day five days a week after school.

Ryan is the best big brother a guy could ever ask for.  He’s the kind of guy that I know I could call at two in the morning in a pinch, and he would be on his way without hesitation.  Over the last few years, I have really appreciated how he shows up to things like our Holiday Party, and Katy and I remain hopeful that we can finally convince him to move to Nashville.

Nick and I met in high school at a time when I thought running track was a good idea.  We bonded over breakups and a shared sense of existential dread.  Since then, he has been one of the main sounding boards in my life. I count on him to tell me if I’m being an idiot or support me when I feel adrift.

Joe and I initially became friends in first grade.  I changed schools for a few years, and we reconnected when I came back in middle school and our parents had to trade off shuttling us to the high school for math.  Something I really appreciate about Joe – he is always down for an adventure.  In fact, Joe gets a lot of credit for my relationship with Katy.  He came with me to Bonnaroo, and even though I made a drunken fool of myself, Joe was a such a good friend that Katy was persuaded that if someone like Joe was friends with me, there must be something redeeming about me as a person.

I grew up with two lawyers for parents, and Conor was a nationally competitive debater in high school.  Our friendship has been one of frequent and heated debates on every topic imaginable.  He has well-reasoned and carefully considered opinions, and I am willing to continue to defend any starting position, no matter how absurd it is.

Brittany Yu

It can be said that Justin and I were both D1 athletes on the Vanderbilt Rugby Team; we played at the highest level of competition in the SEC.    It’s not necessary to say that, and no one asked us to, but it can be said, nonetheless.  Justin and I lived together my first year after graduating college, and I was a terrible roommate.  The fact that he’s still friends with me is a testament to how loyal he is.
