Ahhh one week away, I'm so excited! What can I expect day of?

The ceremony starts pretty promptly at 4:00, so please be sure to arrive around 3:45 in time to say hi to folks and grab a seat. The ceremony will be briefish (we're trying to get you to the party!) but it will be outside in the afternoon so please bring appropriate sun protection. It looks like we will have AMAZING day time weather in the mid-high 70's by the way. Coming with the groom or with the bride? It doesn't matter, sit on either side of the aisle! After the ceremony there will be a cocktail hour with drinks and bites. We'll move into the dining room for seating by 6. There's no assigned seating here either! Grab a chair that looks cool next to someone that looks cool. There is a place set for everyone. Adjacent to the main reception/dining area is a small garden area with an additional dinner table, couches and fire pits. We will have activities set up there for the kids. Once you're all seated, you'll be called up by table number to the food stations. We're taking you on a culinary tour from the Mediterranean to Hong Kong to Italy. (We couldn't decide so we went with "eclectic global"). The menu naturally has gluten free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. We tasted with this caterer twice to guarantee it will be delicious. Good news- there's a full bar! We have all the main liquors, mixers, a selection of wines, beers, and hard seltzers, and a few signature cocktails. Don't worry, we tasted those twice too. (Or was it three times? I lost count.) We also have sparkling waters, sodas, a full selections of juices, and a signature mocktail for our on-the-wagon guests. After dinner we'll move into some toasts, dancing, dessert and more dancing. Get ready to bust a move! We'll start with family favorites and turn it up and speed it up as the night progresses. The reception formally ends at 11 pm. But if you want to keep the party going, we do too! Guava Beach Bar and Grill is just .3 miles away (a 7 minute walk from the venue) at 3714 Mission Blvd. (Note it is 21+.) For the late night crew we definitely recommend a jacket as the temperature will drop to the low 60s. The venue is easy to get to via uber/lyft, and also has a full parking lot directly next to the ceremony and reception. Please note- you cannot leave your car at the venue parking lot overnight, so if you drive it there, be prepared to drive it out. Our goal is to have you talking about this wedding for decades to come so if there is anything we can do to make it more of a blast for you, please don't hesitate to reach out. We love you and look forward to seeing you soon.

San Diego- What you Need to Know!

This looks like a can't miss event! How do I RSVP?

We're glad you can make it! Go the the RSVP tab and enter your name- it will pull up all the members listed in your household. Please RSVP to each event and answer the questions for each person listed. If you can't make it, bummer, are you crazy? Okay okay, we understand and we will miss you- please be sure to respond No on our website as well.

Where should I stay?

There are dozens of hotel and AirBNB/VRBO options within a 5 minute drive from the venue. Please see our travel page for more detailed recommendations!

Do I need a car while I’m in San Diego?

That depends. The airport, wedding eve picnic, and ceremony/reception are all within a 15 mile radius of each other so if you are just going to wedding events you’ll be able to get around using Uber! In the recommended neighborhoods to stay in closest to the venue, there are many restaurants, coffee shops, and beach areas all within walking distance. However, if you are staying in San Diego for a few extra days to do specific activities, a car is helpful to get further from the downtown/Mission Beach area.

When should I arrive in/leave San Diego?

Official wedding events include an all-guest picnic on Friday from 3:30-7:30 and the wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday from 4-11. There may also be smaller, more organic opportunities to gather with friends and family in the area on Thursday and Sunday. San Diego has so much to offer and if you have a few extra days to spend exploring you won't be disappointed!

Coming with Kids!

I'm coming with my kids! - What should I know?

At this stage in our lives many of our close friends and family have kids and we’ve picked a venue where bringing them will be as smooth as possible! If your kids were included as members of your household on the RSVP page, here's the info you need. The Friday event will be fun for kids! We will have lawn games, balls, etc. and there is a playground 4 min walk away from the main gazebo picnic site. (Search Nobel Recreation Center Playground, 7300 Toscana Dr, San Diego, CA 92122) The ceremony will be outdoors on a bayside lawn. If the kids need a break there is plenty of space for them to run away from the seating area. The reception venue has games like corn hole and giant Connect Four to occupy little ones. It’s also easy to go in and out of the venue and access the lawn and beach area. We expect there to be 10+ kids under the age of five so if you bring your baby or wild toddler they’ll have playmates! As you drive down Santa Clara Road to reach the venue parking lot, you’ll see Santa Clara Point playground. Stop by before the ceremony or during the reception whenever you like. Please note we won’t have formal childcare at the wedding so parents are responsible for surveillance. Kids 2-9 will receive a special kid-friendly meal, and 10+ will get a regular adult meal. You can bring your own snacks or food for your children if that would be better for you. If you need a high chair, we can hook you up! Just let us know when you RSVP. If you would like to request any other accommodations for your kiddos - there will be a spot on the RSVP to do so too.

The Main Event

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Let's get San Diego festive! Think cocktail/semi-formal attire with a beach vibe- no tie required .,. but just look like the you you want to look like in hundreds of pictures that will last forever. The ceremony will be held on a lawn and then we will move directly next door for the reception- if you're the type that likes to wear high heels, go for it. If you're the type that likes to wear sneakers, feel free to go for that too. We expect mild weather in the 70s and lows 60s as we move into the night.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes! There are over 200 public parking spots available within a 1-3 minute walk in a public lot owned and operated by the city of San Diego. The city prohibits cars in the lot between 2-4 am, so don’t plan to park overnight. Note the lot is shared with non-wedding guests. We encourage Uber/rideshare. The venue is in the heart of Mission Bay and is easily served by rideshare companies.

Can you help me with mobility/wheelchair accessibility needs?

Absolutely. The reception space is wheelchair accessible and there is a ramp to access public restrooms. The ceremony will be on flat grass.

Where can I find more information on the venue?

The Point's website is here! https://www.gettothepoint.io/the-venue
