Austin and Katie met at WeFest, a country music festival in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Katie had come with her longtime friend (and now bridesmaid!) Jordyn, who had invited her boyfriend Nick and his friends to join their campsite. One of those friends just happened to be Nick’s friend—Austin.

The very first time Austin saw Katie, he assumed he’d never see her again. Moments before, Katie’s friend Gina had accidentally crashed her car while trying to make room for the guys' truck. So when Austin first laid eyes on Katie, she was in full meltdown mode—crying her eyes out. Austin and the guys grabbed a couple beers from their cooler and walked off, deciding they wanted nothing to do with the drama.

Little did Austin know, the teary-eyed girl he avoided that day would one day become his wife.
