Egmont is located on the Sunshine Coast in BC which requires a ferry from Horseshoe Bay. In order to get to the venue, guests will need to ride share, rent a car or take a shuttle.
From Horseshoe Bay you will take a 45 minute ferry to Langdale, BC. Keep an eye out for whales! Reservations are highly recommended (please refer to BC Ferries website for booking details).
Our wedding resort is approximately a 1.5 hour drive north of Langdale. The route up the coast is scenic, with many beautiful spots to stop and see along the way!
If you have any questions about travelling or logistics, please ask Matt and Kathleen and they will be happy to help.
What is the dress code?
Wear whatever makes you feel great! The general vibe will be cocktail to semi formal (dresses, dress shirt, suits, etc). We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us.
For those wearing heels, we recommend block heels as stilettos will get caught in the patio deck. It can be chilly in the evenings so consider having a light sweater. We will have blankets available for our guests.
Given that we are on the west coast in the spring, rain is always a possibility. In the event of rain, our ceremony and reception will be in a covered location.
Are children permitted?
We love your little ones! However, this will be an adult only event.
What time is the ceremony?
The ceremony begins at 4:00 pm. We ask that all guests arrive by 3:45 please! Matt has been working VERY hard at making Kathleen an on time person, so we are expecting to start at 4!
What's the bar situation?
We will provide a full open bar with spirits, beer, cocktails and a selection of red & white wines on the Saturday. We will also have multiple non-alcoholic options & coffee. The welcome BBQ on Friday will be a cash bar. Guests are permitted to have their own drinks in their rooms but not in the common areas at the lodge.
What will I eat?
We are providing dinner on Friday at the welcome BBQ. On Wedding Day there will be canapes at the cocktail hour and of course dinner and dessert. The Lodge is open for Breakfast each day. The Back Eddy next door is open for lunch and dinner. There is a wonderful bakey (Skookumchuk Bakery) that will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9am-4pm.
