The two of us met all the way back in 2011, during our freshman year of high school and became good friends after spending a lot of time together in the same classes and extracurriculars. Kathleen would work in the band room every day after school and Matt would come hang out and practice. We went to most school dances together as friends, but after our senior prom we finally decided to make it official!

When fall came that year, we had to move away to college- Kathleen to Kansas State and Matt to Iowa State. We did long distance for 5 years, visiting each other every month. Either we'd meet up in Omaha, or travel to see each other at our respective schools. Long distance had its challenges, but we learned a lot about trust and communication.

We finally got engaged at Lauritzen Gardens a couple weeks before we began our last year of college. Now, after graduating, we are living together happily in Omaha with our cat, Clementine, and counting down the days until I do!
