The buses will only pick up guests at the Courtyard by Marriott, located at 14700 W 6th Ave, Golden, CO 80401. Guests not staying at the hotel are also welcome to park their cars at the hotel parking lot and take the shuttle up to Boettcher Mansion. Shuttles will pick up guests here between 3:15 and 4 PM.

Shuttles will begin picking up and dropping off guests back to the Courtyard hotel starting at 930 PM and they will run until 10:45 PM. There will also be a shuttle leaving at 10:45 PM that will drop off guests wishing to join the couple for a night cap in downtown Golden.

It is important to stay hydrated at high elevation and altitude whether or not you are drinking alcoholic beverages. Please ensure you have a reusable water bottle on hand and continuously drink water to stay hydrated. Schedule some extra time for hiking and/or long walks as you may become winded more easily. Though it is not common, altitude sickness is a possibility; altitude sickness occurs when your body doesn’t have time to adjust to lower oxygen availability higher up in the atmosphere (my.clevelandclinic.org). Some symptoms include dizziness, headaches, nausea and/or fatigue. Typically descending to lower altitude levels or supplmenting with oxygen can alleviate symptoms. We have had many guests visit us over the years, and altitude sickness has only affected one or two of our guests! However, we want everyone to be prepared.

Your guess is as good as ours and welcome to Colorado! In September we can experience extreme heat, summer afternoon thunderstorms and even snow. While we don't expect snow in early September, please check the weather two weeks prior to plan accordingly. We are already experiencing a hot summer, and therefore, expect a hot September. The mountains allow some escape from the heat and evenings become cooler quickly due to the dry climate. Fingers crossed for mid 70s or 80s and a low chance of afternoon rain!
