Jamie and Katie met March 13th, 2022 in what has now been known as a superspreader event. Luckily Jamie and Katie did not catch Covid, but they caught feelings for each other and met up again for a date on the slopes later that week. It wasn't long before Jamie fell for Katie, quite literally. Shortly thereafter they continued to spend more and more time going between Collingwood, Toronto, and even Portugal!

Jamie fell in love with Katie through her loving, caring, nurturing, understanding, rambunctious personality, and her ongoing support through the loss of Jamie's father, David. Katie fell in love with Jamie because of his big heart, consideration and care towards his friends of family, sense of humour, and adventurous spirit. The two soon moved in together in their current home in Toronto. Between numerous cribbage games, cottage and ski weekends with friends and family their love and goals for their combined futures became evident. Fast forward to July 2023, over yet another cribbage game (that Katie won) Jamie proposed to Katie on the beach at Sundridge over their favourite song.
