How do I RSVP?
RSVPs are now live on this website. Just keep scrolling. Please RSVP through the link on this site for all members of your party, and answer any of the applicable questions included with the RSVP. If you have any questions, feel free to send an email to the bride at kathryn.oneill@gmail.com and include “RSVP” in the subject line.
By when do I need to RSVP?
After you receive your formal invitation, kindly RSVP by April 30, 2024.
Are our children welcome to attend?
We want all of our loved ones to join us if practicable, and there will be children in attendance. However, because of the high number of our friends and family who have small children, we are only extending invitations to the kids in the wedding party and our out-of-town guests’ children. We will be providing a trusted adult(s) as a babysitter at the venue in a separate room but kindly ask that you feed and/or change your own children as needed. They are welcome to attend the reception, but we ask that any children under 5 not be present at the short ceremony. We will have meals provided for non-infant children in attendance, unless you specifically tell us you are providing their food. Please bring any changes of clothes and age appropriate items/activities/toys your children may need.
Are you able to accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Our venue and we are able and committed to accommodating dietary restrictions. When you RSVP, please also share your dietary needs.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is cocktail attire. Please be aware that the ceremony seating is on grass, and guests should wear appropriate shoes. Both the ceremony and cocktail hour are outside, with alternative indoor locations in the case of inclement weather.
Where should I fly into?
We highly recommend you fly into JFK or LaGuardia. If you are planning to come in at least one day before the wedding and leave New York Sunday or later, depending on where you are staying, Newark may also be a reasonable option. It is often the cheapest airport for flights in the NYC area, but please be careful to leave enough extra time to travel to and from New Jersey. We are happy to answer questions about these logistics.
Where should I stay?
We reserved blocks with locked-in rates at Courtyard by Marriott Westbury and Hilton Garden Inn Westbury. Additional information and booking links are accessible in the “Accommodations” tab of this site. Book by May 13th to receive guaranteed rates and availability. We highly recommend booking sooner and staying at these venues. These were specifically chosen because of their positive reviews, reasonable price for the level of accommodation, and proximity to our venue. We have heard anecdotally that our hotels are already fully booked for Wed, June 12.
Where else can I book accommodation?
For additional options, check any hotel booking (Hotwire) or house-share (Airbnb) websites. However, be advised that, due to local events and time of year, rates may be high and availability low. Some hotels require a 2-night min stay. Traffic is also extremely heavy at Friday rush hour in June. If you are not familiar with the area and are considering alternative accommodation, we strongly recommend you look at reviews and reach out to us with questions. Locations may appear close on a map, but it may be impractical to get to the venue from some places. We’re happy to help!
How do you recommend I travel to and from the venue?
Our chosen hotels share a parking lot, and we are providing complementary shuttle services to and from the venue from there. We highly recommend you use these if you are planning to drink at our open bar. More information on the shuttles is included in our FAQ. If you choose to drive, there is sufficient parking to accommodate everyone at the venue. However, please leave enough time to get to the venue, as it may take as much as 2+ hours to drive the short 20-25 miles from NYC and/or JFK or LaGuardia airports (and much more from Newark) on a Friday evening in June. If you coming from the city, we would recommend traveling by the LIRR and catching a cab via a ride share from the train station to Westbury Manor. You could take the LIRR back until approx. 1:00 AM or catch a ride-share or taxi, which should be able to return you to locations in Queens or Nassau County within a half hour, after the reception.
How do the hotel shuttles work?
We will have one shuttle bus that holds up to 39 people traveling from both Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard by Marriott to and from the venue. As of now, we plan to have the shuttle run twice between 5:00 and 6:00 to bring people to the ceremony. It will make a trip back to the hotels around midnight, when the reception ends, and a final trip at 1:30 AM, following the After Party.
Will we be able to catch a cab home after the reception?
You will likely be able to order a Lyft or Uber back home after the reception. However, for those of you based in NYC, there may not be as many taxis running near the venue as you are used to. We would suggest ordering a ride-share ahead of time via Lyft or Uber or calling a local taxi company ahead of time to arrange a ride back home. We are happy to facilitate cab-sharing among our guests going back to the same area and will add some recommendations for local taxi companies as we get closer to the date.
Are you having an after party?
Yes, and it will be held at the Polo Lounge, a bar/restaurant located at Westbury Manor. We have rented out the location for our guests through 1:30 AM and will be providing more tunes, continued open bar, and some Wisconsin delicacies to nosh on.
Will you have an open bar?
But of course!
May we take photos during the ceremony?
We would kindly request that you refrain from taking photographs during most of the ceremony to allow our professional photographer to more easily capture the most special moments. Our officiant will let you know when it’s time to snap away!
Do you have a wedding #hashtag?
Yes! We would appreciate it if everyone could include #mathryn2024 when posting our wedding photographs or other related content on social media.
