Our Story

Kathryn and Scott's love story, while unconventional, is a tale of the modern relationship. It begins at the tail end of 2020. Kathryn had just moved back to Texas after a brief stint working at the USM Gulf Coast Research Lab and Scott was rapidly approaching his 2nd year in Austin.

The unlikely pair met on the dating app Hinge where they began conversing over such relationship building topics as “the benefits of a toaster versus a toaster oven”. The two got to know each other over a few webcam dates, as was the norm during The Pandemic, and when they finally met in person they got along perfectly. They made each other laugh and felt comfortable in the other’s presence.

Since then the two have been inseparable. They began seeing each other more frequently, introducing each other to family, planning trips and vacations and eventually moved in together. After a few months of living together, they decided that something was missing. Things were a little too quiet in their new home. From there came their lovable, loyal, and (occasionally) loud Cocker Spaniel, Dasher! And thus their family was complete.

Kathryn and Scott have known since early on that they were destined for each other. Which is why the choice to marry came so easily. Now, after years of love and months of planning, they find themselves ready to write the next chapter as their two stories become one.
