According to Kathryn...
Dave and I have known each other for 15+ years, and we have the collective wisdom of our bridal party to thank for introducing us. (Sorry it took us so long to realize we were perfect for each other.)
Over the years, Dave made what I can only assume were bold attempts to impress me: a) joining the Marines, b) graduating from Georgetown, and c) writing mystery dinner theater scripts starring me as the femme fatale. Alas, while I was indeed impressed, the timing was never quite right, so we remained "just friends." Luckily, we managed to stay in touch over the years, and always looked forward to catching up whenever we were home from whichever new city each of us was living in that year.
Then one day Dave made a trip back east for his niece's birthday. That evening, he asked if I wanted to join him and the guys for a beer at a local watering hole. A quick hello turned into several hours of meaningful glances while debating the relative merits of Game of Thrones fan theories, before we realized the guys had all left us sitting alone in the booth. Apparently we might be more than "just friends" after all.
This March, we moved to Richmond, where we currently live with our two kitties Dewey and Bebop, and our very good dog, Link. We can't wait to celebrate with you all!
According to Dave...
“Saturday night I was downtown
Working for the F.B.I.
Sitting in a nest of bad men
Whiskey bottles piling high
Bootlegging boozer on the west side
Full of people who are doing wrong
Just about to call up the D.A. man
When I heard this woman singing a song.
A pair of forty fives made me open my eyes
My temperature started to rise
She was a long, cool woman in a black dress
5’9", beautiful, tall,
With just one look I was a bad mess
Cause that long, cool woman had it all.”
