This is a very popular and very hard to get into oyster farm. If you want to relax by the beach, eat local food, and casually spend time with loved ones, this is the spot for you! You can boat straight to their dock or drive by car. Personally, I have to go every time I am in Roche Harbor!

There are about 75 orcas that visit the islands every summer so be sure to book a tour early on if you are interested! If you want a tour by boat, rather than kayak or paddle board, there are various options just a short drive away in Friday Harbor.

WALKING DISTANCE. These mopeds look so fun to rent! We have always wanted to try them out! The island is basically one main loop so you can't get lost. They are located by the resort's local airport and sculpture park so it is very easy to walk to.

The Lime Kiln Cafe has classic breakfasts and lunches! They also make the tastiest donuts fresh every morning! The Madrona Bar and Grill has lunch and dinner food with a nice patio right over the water. McMillin's is the formal restaurant above the Madrona Bar and Grill. It has beautiful views of the marina and a white tablecloth kind of menu. There is also a coffee and ice cream shop, a general store, and a seafood stand out on the dock.
FREE ACTIVITY. Hikes are all over the island! There is one walking distance from the resort that leads you into the historic lime quarries. If you want to see the island lighthouse, the Lime Kiln Point State Park is a short drive away and an easy hike!

FREE and AT THE RESORT. The colors ceremony occurs every night at sunset. They raise each flag in the area as they play their anthem. It is important you are quiet at this time as the resort shuts down to honor the flags. Once the ceremony concludes, everyone cheers and honks their boat horns.
