How it started:

Katie and Chris first met the summer of 2016! They met through a mutual friend (Katie’s sister lol). Their interactions mainly consisted of social media interactions back and forth, with the occasional "right swipe" if one happened to see the other on a dating app ;)

Flash forward to October of 2019. Katie was working at Starbucks, and on her day off she went to Target to look for a book (Katie barely reads... so this was a rare outing). Upon looking, a concerned voice came up behind her saying “Security! I have young female trying to shoplift, I’m gonna need back up!” She turned around to see it was Chris, who at the time was working at Target! The two got to talking and catching up. Katie didn't fully comprehend in the moment that Chris was subtly flirting. After they caught up with each other, Katie decided to make a move and matched with him on a dating app! After a few days talking through the app, they exchanged numbers and had their first date at Britton Tavern on October 18, 2019!

After many more dates to follow, about a month later the two made it pretty clear that they weren’t interested in seeing anyone else. They loved the time that they were spending with each other. The rest became history!

How It's Going:

Throughout their near 5 years together, they have embarked on some wonderful memories! They moved into their first place together in 2021, they added a fur baby to their family in 2022 (shoutout to Kylo)! They have also been there to celebrate in each other’s big career changes, promotions and many other milestones throughout the years! They both have grown so much, both individually and together. And they have loved getting to share in the victories, and even the challenges together!

Flash forward to summer of 2023! After a hectic week of moving into their new apartment, Chris surprised Katie with a nice dinner out to Cooper’s Hawk Winery. But he had more up his sleeve! After dinner, they went in for a picture (or so Katie thought). After realizing it was a video being taken and not a picture, Katie then looked over to see Chris asking her to marry him, the best surprise ever!

Katie and Chris are so excited to continue creating new memories and building their life together! They cannot wait to celebrate their love together with their family and their friends!
