Katie and Keegan met in 2018 at High Point University where Keegan was a goalie on the soccer team, and Katie was a member of the track team. In God's great plan, the two sports held practice at the very same time - the two began to see each other a lot in passing. Although, it was not until Katie attended a soccer game that she thought Keegan was really cute. The game went to penalty kicks, and the whole HPU side cheered for Keegan. In classic Katie fashion, she immediately made sure he knew who she was after the game. After that, they went on their first date, and have been inseparable ever since.

In 2019, Keegan was drafted to the New England Revolution and moved to Boston while Katie had three more years of school. Keegan's soccer career kept them apart most of their relationship. They both gave up so much to be able to see each other, even if it was just for a day! Keegan switched teams a few times and took Katie on a fabulous and fun journey through his career. With God's great plan again, he placed the two in the same city following Katie's graduation where they made Charlotte, NC their home and have enjoyed every second since!
