Our Tradition
We hold family traditions close to our hearts and are committed to passing them down to future generations.
It’s incredibly special for us to share these customs with our children and to bring it into the Meyer family. We’re excited to keep these tradition alive together!
The Tradition of the Polish Money Dance
(aka Polish Apron Dance):
Katie’s family, on her mom Pam’s side, has strong Polish roots, and every wedding in that family has included this cherished tradition.
In Poland, the tradition is known as the “Apron Dance.” The bride typically wears an apron, and guests pin money to it as they take turns dancing with her. During this tradition, all of the guests line up to dance with the bride and offer money to the newlywed couple.
This practice not only brings financial blessings but also is a fun and interactive way for guests to engage with the bride. The Pani Mloda Polka song is played, and after dancing with the bride.
