We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with all of you! We hope that you all will take advantage of the weekend to explore all the amazing things Colorado has to offer! We will be staying in Estes Park, the home of Rocky Mountain National Park for the weekend. The wedding itself will take place about 20 minutes outside of Estes Park, in the neighboring town of Allenspark, and just feet from the Wild Basin entrance to the national park. Shuttles will be available to and from Estes Park and the venue. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Our Wedding

Katie and David met on a warm summer night in 2020 after exchanging no more than 3 text messages on Hinge. Katie had just finished her pandemic-themed intern year, and Dave was halfway through a Master's degree in computer science. They met in Wash Park and hit it off immediately. Dave told Katie about his incredible backpacking trip along the Colorado Trail. Katie told Dave all about her job at Denver Health, and Dave hasn't stopped hearing about it since. On their 5th date, Dave took Katie on an "easy" hike, where they got hailed on and had to take refuge under a scrubby pine tree. It was the best date ever. In 2022 Katie and Dave moved into their home in Sunnyside together with their cat, Pepper. A year later they adopted their dog, Finnegan, who has done his best to destroy that home every chance he gets. They got engaged during a trip to Italy in 2024. Dave proposed after a romantic, Lizzie McGuire-esque Vespa ride through the Amalfi Coast, ending in a ancient villa overlooking the Mediterranean. Katie had no idea it was coming. ;)

Hotel Options

We do not have a hotel block. However, there are a lot of options for hotels in Estes Park and the surrounding area. Here is a list that we recommend!

Comfortable hotel located on the river and in the heart of downtown. Excellent outdoor hot tub, wood and gas fireplaces, and nightly s'mores. Katie and Dave will be staying here!

Silver Moon Inn ($$$)

Big fan of The Shining? Stay in the historic hotel where Stephen King was inspired to write the novel.

Stanley Hotel ($$$)

The Holiday Inn is adjoined to the Estes Park Conference Center, so there are lots of rooms. And an indoor pool!

Holiday Inn Estes Park ($$)

Adorable, small bed and breakfast located walking distance from downtown.

The Maxwell Inn ($$)

Cute little motel, walking distance from downtown. Great outdoor hot tub!

Discovery Lodge ($)

Great affordable option if you want to be in the heart of downtown! Each room is its own cabin, many of which have wood burning fire-places!

Misty Mountain Lodge ($)

A charming little motel located on Big Thompson Ave, offering a more affordable option.

Blue Door Inn ($)

We hope that you'll take advantage of the long weekend and enjoy everything the Colorado Rockies have to offer! Go on a hike, take the tram, visit the haunted Stanley hotel, and then get us married!

Starting May 23rd, the park does require timed entry tickets, which can be purchased here: <a href="https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm " rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm </a> Tickets are released on May 1st and sell out quickly, so buy them in advance! A great alternative is to take the shuttle from the Estes Park Visitor Center downtown to the Park. This also requires a timed entry ticket, but are far less popular and sell out less quickly.

Rocky Mountain National Park

For 70+ years, the historic Estes Tram has carried more than 3 million visitors to the top of 8,900-foot Prospect Mountain. Soar to the summit on our historic red tram for stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and continental divide. Experience great food at the Hungry Chipmunk Cafe, explore the gift shop, picnic areas, and light hiking. Enjoy the Tramway’s unique free-span design, meaning no support towers for the ride to the top. Tickets are on sale at <a href="www.estestram.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.estestram.com</a> and reservations are made in twenty-minute entry slots. The tram ride up is about 5 minutes and the average time at the summit about an hour. Open weekends through the end of the season 9AM – 5PM (last tram down at 5:45PM) through October 13th.

Estes Park Aerial Tramway

Built in 1909, the Stanley Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Estes Park. It is a beautiful, historic monument to the Old West. However, it is best known as the inspiration for Stephen King's novel, The Shining, and supposedly has lots of paranormal activity. Stanley Hotel

Surrounded on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park, there’s no better place to enjoy the great outdoors than at the YMCA of the Rockies – Estes Park Center. Whether you’re looking to go on a guided hike or rejuvenate your body with some outdoor yoga, there’s something for everyone here. Some other summer outdoor activities include archery, challenge courses, fly fishing, disc golf, horseback riding, mini golf, tennis, volleyball, climbing, and whitewater rafting. In the winter, there is ice skating and snowshoeing available as well.
