Jeremy and Katie first met in summer of 2010 playing on the same ultimate frisbee team with Albany Summer League. They remained mere Facebook acquaintances until 2012, when Katie moved back to Albany from Peru and re-joined the ultimate community.In August of 2012, Jeremy and Katie ran into each other at club sectionals, where Jeremy was the tournament director and Katie was playing with SUNY Albany. They discovered they were living on opposite sides of Washington Park and that Jeremy had a community garden plot right behind Katie's apartment. He offered to drop her off a bag of tomatoes, which is an excellent way to pick-up girls.Over the course of fall of 2012 they regularly cooked meals, went for runs, shared beers, played ultimate, or listened to music and did work together (Jeremy was teaching at Siena and Katie was working on her Master's). It was clear they were more than friends when Jeremy bought Katie a pumpkin and a butternut squash for her birthday in October and wrapped it in Disney Princess paper. Another smooth produce-related move on Jeremy's part.They took their first trip together in January of 2013 to go to Lei Out- an ultimate frisbee tournament in California. This trip established their mutual love of good tacos and visiting breweries. By 2013 they were obnoxiously inseparable thanks to all their shared interests. Snowshoeing adventures, Phish concerts, the Giants, ultimate frisbee, running, triathlons, and even trap shooting. Over the years they took tons of race-centric and beer-centric vacations: California (once for a 50k and once for the Pliny the Younger release), Texas (aka the great food poisoning incident of 2013-2014), Florida, Colorado (x3), Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico 70.3- Katie's first), Mexico, Belgium (they lived on beer, cheese, and pate for a week), France, Amsterdam, and Tanzania. They moved in together to the Pink Palace in 2014, and adopted their pitbull, Nelson Dogman in 2015.Their biggest shared interest became triathlon. Over rocky mountain oysters and Wynkoop's Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout in Denver, Katie mentioned buying a bike. Jeremy was training for his first Ironman and supported her 100%. Katie did her first triathlon in July of 2013 and Jeremy finished his first Ironman just two weeks later. One of the first things he asked her when he crossed the finish line was: "When's your first 140.6?" They did a couple of 70.3s in 2014 as well as multiple marathons and a 50k. They both completed Ironman Lake Placid in 2015. Always wanting to improve, they both signed up for Ironman Mont Tremblant in 2016.The race was on August 21, 2016, and it was a long day. Any Ironman is a long day, but when it also downpours for 12 hours, the day feels even longer. Jeremy and Katie made their way along the 140.6 mile course, waving to each other on the bike. Both were having great days, despite the lousy weather. Jeremy finished in 10 hours and 41 minutes, a big personal record. Katie finished in 13 hours and 26 minutes which was also a personal record-a surprise, given a nagging back injury. But there was an even bigger surprise at the end! Jeremy was waiting at the finish line with an engagement ring! Mike Reilly announced their engagement and many of their friends were able to see it online via a live stream. Katie's parents and a few of their friends even got to see it in person. The two look forward to a lifetime of triathlon, tacos, travel, and tippling Trappists.

Transportation

We will be offering transportation via school bus to the wedding venue, which is 35 minutes from downtown Albany. The bus will pick up ONLY at the HILTON in Downtown Albany at 3:30 PM. There is only one bus, so don't miss it! The bus will return you to the Hilton at the end of the evening.We strongly encourage you to take the bus as there is limited parking at the wedding venue and the roads are a bit windy. Safety first!

Katie N. and Katie K. met at Roanoke College when they both signed up for the men's ultimate frisbee team, The Plague, at the activities fair. They started getting together to throw on the quad, which quickly turned into frisbee parties, tournaments, and starting the college's women's team. The two were inseparable for their first two years of college, but Katie N. transferred after sophomore year to UNC Wilmington. Despite the miles, the two remained best friends.From surfing and beach camping in Wilmington, NC to wine tasting and sandboarding in Peru, the two are always looking towards their next adventure.

Jeremy and Mitch met on Trudge when Mitch started at RPI as a freshman. Jeremy has basically taught Mitch about everything good life has to offer. Jeremy introduced Mitch to good beer early and got Mitch to do his first triathlon at the worst race every run on this planet. They have both volunteered for each other at Ironman and have competed as teammates in Swimrun NC. In the second of their only two head to head races at Ironman Mont Tremblant in 2016, Jeremy was able to beat Mitch across the line, and then shortly after Mitch watched as Jeremy proposed at the finish line. Mitch is still hoping to beat Jeremy some day.

Kathy is Katie's sister-in-law. Katie had a serious bit of luck when she got Kathy for a sister-in-law. Kathy is smart, a world traveler, and is a perfect match for Katie's brother. Together they've shared amazing trips to Arnold Lake, cooked fresh calamari, and had a great time at Nationals games. Katie is super excited to have her sister-in-law by her side on her wedding day!

Jeremy and Andrew first met when Andrew was touring RPI before his freshman year. Andrew was walking around the Student Center with a disc clipped to his belt and Jeremy immediately called him over to recruit him for Trudge. Despite Andrew's best attempts to run away from all his friends to the wilderness of Maine, he and Jeremy have stayed close. Andrew has been the ultimate support crew for numerous triathlons and together Jeremy and Mitch have gotten Andrew to start biking; the first step to getting him to do a triathlon. Andrew was crucial at Ironman Mont Tremblant in getting everything ready for the proposal.

Maura and Katie met when they started working for the Codes Committee at the New York State Assembly on the same day. Working in side-by-side cubicles, they quickly became great friends. Whether working on a policy-related project or simply discussing the merits of what to eat for lunch (and dinner...), "Codes Corner" was never quiet again. Maura and Katie really solidified their friendship during their recent trip to Cuba, especially when they ran a 10K on Saturday morning and nearly died...ask us about that story after we have had a drink or two.

If you have never been inside the NYS Capitol, it is a beautiful building with a fascinating history. It's also where Katie works. No reservations are needed for weekday tours, but reservations are required on Saturdays. There are tours at 11:00 A.M and 1:00 P.M.
