The two of us met at our Basic Officers Leadership Course in San Antonio, Texas. It took until the end of the course for either of us to strike up a conversation, but we soon found out we were heading to Joint Base Lewis McChord. Once in Washington, Katie was the first to initiate the interaction by asking Zach to help her with weighing her car (a part of getting reimbursed for military moves). Spoiler alert: she didn't need any help. Zach gave some helpful hints and later asked Katie out to dinner with a few friends. The rest is history!
