How do I gain access onto the military post?

https://pass.aie.army.mil/jbmhh/ The website listed is where to go to for visitor passes for all non-military guests to get onto post. Sometimes the link does not work when pasted, so simply googling "Fort Myer" and clicking the .mil website will bring you to the homepage. Go to: Menu -> About->Base Services-> Access Control & Gate Information (Scroll down page and click the link). The pass website will then be listed on the page. Please complete the form no more than 14 days in advance or less than 3 days prior to the wedding. The website also has many FAQ's listed to answer any concerns you may have. Be sure to print your pass to gain access. A visitor center is also located on base where passes can be obtained the day of the wedding, but it is recommended to go through the website. Anybody with a common access card can sponsor additional guests if they're riding in the same vehicle. GS civilians, retired military, and disability card holders should also have base access.

Can Taxis get onto base?

Uber, Lyft, and other taxi services cannot get onto base without proper identification. The listed services can drop you off right outside the gate in which you can show visitor passes and enter. Hatfield gate is open 24/7 and is a 4 minute walk from The Memorial Chapel. It is a 0.8 mile walk from The Memorial Chapel to the reception at Patton Hall.

Is there a dress code?

Yes! The dress code is semi-formal attire. Prepare for a nice fall breeze! We would love to see lots of fun fall colors but please no white!

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! The bar will be open for a cocktail hour prior to dinner. Wine will be served with dinner, with the open bar returning upon completion of the meal!

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless it is specifically indicated on your envelope. For example, your envelope would list "(your name) & Guest". For families, it will list "The (your last name) Family". When you go to RSVP, you will be able to see the exact number of people you can RSVP for.
