Katie and Matt started out as best friends in high school, although Matt definitely had feelings from the start. He'll tell you he knew exactly what he wanted and that persistence was key. She called it the friend zone, he called it the long game. Tomato, tomahto.

Now, over a decade later, they live in their tiny apartment in Philadelphia that has just enough room for them and their dog, Marvel.

On Christmas Eve in 2023, when they were out walking the dog and looking at Christmas lights, Matt proposed on Katie's favorite street in the city.

Fun fact: Rumor has it that there exists a photo of the two of them standing in their kindergarten lines on the very first day of school. No one’s been able to find it but the story still holds and maybe it all started there.
