Ocracoke is a beautiful and historic town in the OBX. The village is very walkable; however, we do recommend renting bikes or a golf cart to explore. October is nearing the off season, but most shops and restaurants will still be open for business. If you are interested in heading out to the beach, you may park at the lifeguard public beach access and walk on or you can drive on the beach with a 4WD vehicle and a Cape Hatteras National Seashore Off Road Permit ORV permit link.
