With hiking, an art museum, great dining, coffee, and drinking options, Beacon is a great place to spend a few days!
Start here with Dutchess County's "Weekend in Beacon Guide". After you're oriented, consider stopping by some of our favorite places in town:
- Happy Valley Arcade Bar: retro video games, craft beer, and snacks
- Beacon Coffee Co. & Mercantile: the best coffee in town! (Other great coffee stops include Bank Square Coffeehouse, Big Mouth Coffee Roasters, and Kitchen & Coffee).
- Brunch and more: Beacon Falls Cafe and Beacon Bread Co. are our favorites.
- Lunch and Dinner: Melzingah Tap House (Pub Grub / New American), Momo Valley (Nepalese), Quinn's (Ramen/Japanese with a dive bar aesthetic), Brother's Trattoria (pizza/Italian).
- Hiking: the default trail for a great view (about a mile, steep) is the hike to the Beacon Overlook from the Mt. Beacon Trailhead parking area. From that starting point, you can get to a variety of other trails.
- Other: if you're into modern art, Dia Beacon is a museum with some large-scale, thought-provoking installations.
