WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Both the ceremony and the reception will be held indoors in the round barn, which is heated. Dress is semi-formal to formal — suits, ties, dresses, etc. You're welcome to wear any colors you like, but if you're wondering, the wedding colors are deep greens, cream white, black, and pastels.
Also, don’t forget to come wearing winter boots since there could be snow on the ground and the walk from the parking lot to the round barn is a few minutes up a hill so be prepared! Bring your nicer shoes to change into once inside. :)
WHAT KIND OF FOOD AND DRINK WILL BE PROVIDED?
Before the ceremony, guests can enjoy a warm drinks station with hot chocolate, tea, and coffee — perfect for cozying up in the winter chill.
After the ceremony, there will be a grazing table with charcuterie-style finger foods to keep everyone happily snacking while we transition into the evening.
Dinner will be a build-your-own pasta bar with several types of pasta, sauces, meats, and vegetables — so you can create a dish that’s just right for you! We’ll also have options available for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian diets (though please note that we can’t guarantee a completely allergy-safe environment due to possible cross-contamination — we’re so sorry for any inconvenience).
Dinner will be followed by cake and coffee, and later in the evening, we’ll open up a sweets table for anyone who still has room for more!
A variety of non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the day — we hope you’ll feel nourished and cared for from start to finish.
What Kinds of activities will there be after the ceremony?
Dinner will be followed by dancing! For those who prefer not to dance, there will be board / card games available to play. A bonfire surrounded by swings will be available outdoors. :)
What is the parking situation?
Plenty of free parking is available on site. However, there is a short walk up to the pavilion / round barn where the reception will be held and the walkway might be snowy so please be sure to come wearing boots / booties and bring shoes to change into for the reception.
Are my kids invited?
Please refer to your digital invitation. If your children are not listed, then unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate them (other than nursing infants). The venue is quite restricted in size so we are unable to have many children there other than a few immediate family members and close friends who will be bringing their kids. So sorry!
What about plus ones?
Unfortunately, our venue has very limited space so there is sadly no room for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!
Are there other wedding related events over the weekend?
There will be a rehearsal dinner Friday, December 5th around 6 pm at the wedding venue “round barn” following the rehearsal happening at 5pm. Guests who will be staying overnight in Vermont from Friday to Saturday are welcome to join us! It won’t be fancy (just a burrito bar and dessert) but it will provide an opportunity for more quality time with everyone! Please let us know if you plan to join us by emailing us katieandgavin2025@gmail.com
Are you registered anywhere for wedding gifts?
Your presence at our wedding is all we would ask for. Should you wish to honor us with a gift, a contribution towards our future together would be greatly appreciated. Though we would have loved to create a wedding registry, the unknowns of military life have made that a bit challenging! We will use any gifts we receive toward helping us set up a home wherever we end up landing. Thank you so much for your kind generosity! :) ***If you would like to contribute, kindly give cash/check at the wedding or through a digital platform like venmo you can send us a gift. ***
What should we know if we are flying in from out of town?
Please see the “Travel” section for information about purchasing flights, hotel recommendations, what to expect weather-wise, etc.
