While we had been discussing our future for some time, while on a group trip to New Orleans in November of 2023 we stopped into a jewelry store for the first time. This was more for fun and just to get ideas of style and feelings but led to more engagement conversations and eventually a trip a few weeks later to another jeweler to pick out THE RING.

Kevin was clear that there was no timeline and adorably vague on when the ring would even be available for him to pick up but nail appointments were regularly made from January-March. :)

On March 9th, 2024 even though he tried to be sly a few things tipped off that it might be the day he was proposing. A request for babysitter arrangements, an outfit suggestion, and a reservation at our favorite restaurant and I was almost positive it was happening. One hiccup of a babysitter canceling even played into his plan and got our good friend Nikki Burlin over to watch the kids while we went to dinner. All through dinner I was sure it was coming but it never happened. We left and even stopped for ice cream on the way home. Then as I opened the door I was greeted by the most beautiful display of candles and rose petals with a marquee sign that said "Marry Me". Kevin said all the exact things that touched my heart and luckily Nikki could stealth get it on video.

We were able to celebrate together for a few minutes then head off to meet our families and the kiddos at a restaurant in town for dessert and a small engagement celebration.
