Our Story

How We Met

Well, let our story be a lesson to everyone that first impressions aren't always correct. Katy thought Edward was a jerk the first weekend she met him at a friend's wedding (she was a bridesmaid and he was a groomsman) in Florida. Katy was living in San Francisco at the time, and a few months later Edward was in California on a boys trip (how cute, amirite?). Katy met up with them on a bar crawl, and found out that Edward was actually not a jerk after she received some bad news about a friend, turned into an emotional mess, and Edward took care of her that night. After that, social media lent it's hand to them keeping in touch on and off, and after Katy made a HILARIOUS joke concerning Edward's cat Meeko and a skit from the Chappelle Show, Edward was hooked, and BAM here we are.

The Proposal

With Edward being the best person there is, he worked his ass off to surprise Katy with a trip back to Atlanta for her 30th birthday to celebrate with all her friends and family. Although Katy didn't know where they were going, she had made an engagement ring out of some copper wire and a Godzilla miniature toy (for those who don't know, Edward is obsessed with Godzilla) a month prior, and decided to take it with her on the trip in case an opportunity presented itself. Well, it did, and after she found out where they were going at the airport, and that coincidentally, Edward has booked a place to stay right next to where they had always taken weekend walks together when they lived in ATL, it was the perfect spot. Katy's best friend Joshua showed up on the doorstep that morning (surprise!) while Edward wasn't there, so they schemed about taking a walk to Katy's favorite graffiti spot and Josh would take the video, acting like they were just posing for a pic in front of the wall of graffiti. It was raining, and their friend Austin volunteered to wait under a bridge like a creep to take additional pictures. Thanks to both of them, when Katy knelt down with that weird little plastic toy, Edward was REALLY surprised and it resulted in the best pics and video proposal ever :) Then we got to celebrate with our friends all weekend!

Kids

Also, We Love Kids But...

We're asking that our guests leave them at home. In addition to this being a rowdy party, we want everyone to have a vacation and time away from the day-to-day, you deserve it!
