It’s May 2019 and Kayla just completed her sophomore year of college at California University of Pennsylvania. She decided a few months prior that she should live in Myrtle Beach and work as a poolside server for the summer. Ryan recently finished his junior year at Coastal Carolina University and began working as a towel boy for a summer job. The two met at the same job orientation at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Kayla’s first memory of Ryan was when he ran in late to orientation and from that moment their lives changed in more ways than they could ever imagine. From their first dates out on the beach to late nights at Cookout the couple fell in love even with long distance on the horizon. Kayla eventually left South Carolina to start her junior year of college back in Pennsylvania. “Distance makes the heart grow fonder” and as time progressed the couple continued to find ways to make each other loved even when they were miles away. The two made it a priority to spend quality time together with FaceTime calls, virtual movie dates, daily texts, and sharing silly instagram reels saying ‘you’ on every one. Throughout the years the two grew stronger as individuals and together. So few get to say they grew up with their best friend. I am so thankful to have a partner who has loved many versions of me up to this point and the many more to come. 🤍
