Our Story

Fourteen years after graduating from the same high school— a fact that was, embarrassingly, revealed to Kayla 5 minutes into our first date—the fates (an app called Hinge) brought us back together. After spending nearly all of our free time together for the ensuing months, and going on more dates than most people do in 3 years, it quickly became clear that we have something special. Something that would last forever. As they say, "the rest is history."

Getting there: Hood River is ~55 minutes by car from PDX airport, and to get to the venue is roughly an hour &amp; twenty. Currently there are no ride share apps operating out of Hood River - you can take an Uber or Lyft to Hood River from Portland, but you will need to schedule a Gorge Taxi or Hood River Taxi for the way back (in advance). Alternatively we recommend renting a car to experience driving down the scenic Columbia River Highway. Breathtaking views of the Columbia River Gorge, quaint old orchards with Mt. Hood as backdrop, acres of world-class wine-producing vineyards, waterfalls, local art galleries, and historical byways are just the beginning of what you can expect to experience in Hood River, Oregon. Hood river is world famous for windsurfing so we definitely recommend spending some time at the waterfront watching the windsurfers. The town is very walkable and full of amazing local food and breweries. Some local spots we recommend are: pFriem Family Brewing, Ferment Brewery, Pine Street Bakery-- just to name a few. There are also plenty of hikes, wineries, and orchards in the area accessible by car/Uber. We hope you enjoy Hood River as much as we do!
