It is imperative that the wedding party stays on the island to be on time for the wedding rehearsal and ceremony, guests are welcome to stay over in Mackinac city if they wish and take a ferry ride over. The wedding party should consult me first for accommodations before booking on their own. After making sure family and the wedding party have first pick of the rooms I reserved, any remaining rooms can be opened up for guests to stay in at their discretion. If you are staying over in Mackinac city or St. Ignace, you will have to pay for round trip tickets to Mackinac Island which can be given at a discounted rate if you say you are with the Perry & Mosley wedding. You may be able to get shuttled over to the ferry from your hotel if you do not stay on the island, ensure those details get worked out with your choice of stay. If you do not stay on the island during any part of the wedding, please note the lines for the ferry could take at least 30 minutes to around 1.5 hours to get on, depending on how many people are in line and the time of day; this factor has to be calculated into your time management, so plan to be ahead of any scheduled events by at least 2.5-3 hours with the operations of the ferry and horse drawn taxis. The wedding party and parents of the bride/groom will already have a reserved ride to the ceremony. Please be advised that for all other guests attending and depending on where you are staying on the island, I strongly recommend calling Mackinac Island Carriage Tours and setting up a reservation for the ceremony arrival to be picked up from your place of lodging no later than 2pm; this will allow room for other passengers that may be picked up along the route to the gazebo , pit stops that the horses might need to rest and get a drink of water, etc. You can reach Mackinac Island Carriage Tours at 906-847-3307 M-F 9am to 4:45.
