It depends! Elevation is a serious factor to consider. Coming to elevation can affect everyone differently. If you have health conditions or are older in age, you could experience shortness of breath or more serious medical complications. We strongly recommend everyone increase their elevation as slowly as possible. For example, flying to Denver and staying for a few days may help your body to adjust before heading to higher elevation in Durango. Please consult your doctor for further medical advice. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns as we’d love to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible with the elevation changes.
Why did you choose to get married in Durango?
We have truly fallen in love with the mountains of Colorado. Originally, we planned to get married in Denver but never felt particularly connected to any venue we found. We decided to open our search to the entire state of Colorado, and we found Purgatory Ski Resort. We instantly knew that was the perfect place. We were so sure that we didn't even visit Durango or the venue itself prior to booking it! We hope you will fall in love with the mountain views and sunshine just as we have.
Is there parking available at the venue?
While there is parking at the resort, all guests will take a complimentary shuttle from the resort to the top of the mountain. Unfortunately, the parking is very limited at the top of the mountain and will be reserved for vendors. If you have any special circumstance that would require you to leave early, please let us know. We would be happy to work with you to find a solution!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors with the reception indoors. Colorado weather is unpredictable, so please dress accordingly!
What is the dress code?
Semi Formal. Think knee length or midi dresses, pantsuit, dress shirt and slacks, with an optional tie. For footwear, we recommend heels, nice wedges, or formal flats.
Where are you registered?
