Our story begins with a meet-cute at Sylas & Maddy's, a local ice cream shop in Kansas City.
Well, technically... our story began on Bumble. But we can agree to just skip over that part, right?
We agreed to meet for ice cream on Labor Day 2022. After a bit of an awkward start, we found ourselves talking for more than an hour. Much of the conversation revolved around sports. And that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who knows either of us.
Still, when the conversation ended that night, Kayla wasn't sure if she would see Tyler again. But that question was quickly resolved when Tyler walked Kayla to the car and asked for a second date.
Since then, we have spent more days together than we have apart. From roadtrips to lazy weekend mornings exploring City Market and numerous sporting events and concerts, we have made the most of our 2+ years together. Kayla's crowning achievement of the relationship was convincing K-State grad Tyler to wear KU blue into Allen Fieldhouse a mere three months into the relationship. Tyler worked for nearly a year and a half before Kayla agreed to enter Bramlage wearing purple.
Fast forward to early 2024... Kayla was eagerly anticipating a proposal from Tyler. On a seemingly ordinary Saturday, Tyler and Kayla ventured downtown to jump on the streetcar and explore the city. Shortly after lunch, we made a stop at the National WWI Museum & Memorial, which provides one of the best views of the city. Tyler had first brought Kayla to this spot on one of their early dates. So it only seemed fitting that this would be the place where Tyler would drop to a knee and ask Kayla to marry him. She may or may not have instantly burst into tears and said yes to forever.
We are thrilled to officially start our forever and celebrate alongside all of our favorite people.
Love,
