As most modern love stories go, Joshua and Kayla met through the dating app Bumble. For their first date, they went hiking for a waterfall that, unbeknownst to them, had dried up. They haven’t spent much time apart since.
In the beginning, they worked only 10 minutes away from eachother. Mid-week movie theater dates quickly became their thing. When Joshua got his current job, it proved more and more difficult to see eachother during the week so their time together was limited to weekends. They were long distance for over a year before finally moving in together in February of 2024.
In June of 2024, they planned a trip to Old Forge. They had spent their first anniversary there, at Water Safari and getting dinner at Tony Harper’s Pizza and Clam Shack. This trip, supposedly, was not to commemorate anything. As soon as Joshua insisted on going that specific weekend, a day before the appointment to view a wedding venue, Kayla knew that this would be the weekend that he would propose. And that is exactly what happened, with the best views half way up Bald Mountain, with the ring that she had picked out. They celebrated accordingly by visiting their favorite pizza and clam shack and eating ice cream by the lake.
Together they share a love for all things food, live music, board games, and movies. They also share a love for their fur babies. The doggos: Diesel, Rex, and Morty. The kitties: Claude and Ebbi. They are so excited to be making their love official with all of their favorite people! They are looking forward to spending forever together creating their home, trying all of the new foods, going to all of the concerts, seeing all of the new movies, and of course, chasing all of the waterfalls.
