Nature played a huge role in our decision to choose Iceland for our wedding. The stunning landscapes are unlike anywhere else, and we want to take full advantage of their beauty. Our primary ceremony location will be the breathtaking Stokksnes Beach. However, to ensure we’re prepared for anything Iceland’s weather throws at us, we’ve chosen Skutafoss and Diamond Beach as alternate locations.

Dress for comfort! Iceland’s October weather is cool, with temperatures typically in the 30s to 40s (Fahrenheit), so be sure to bring your warm gear and focus on staying cozy—no need to stress about formal clothing. If you'd like to coordinate colors (completely optional!), my bouquet will feature darker tones to reflect the season: think burgundy, dark green, beige/cream, deep lavender, and dark blue. You get the idea—just go with what makes you feel good!

Safety first! If you love heels, we totally get it—but based on our research, hiking boots or snow boots will likely be the best choice for the terrain and weather. Of course, it’s entirely up to you, but we want everyone to stay safe and comfortable as we navigate Iceland’s stunning landscapes!

There are several great hotel options in Reykjavik for the first night. We like the City Center Hotel (https://www.citycenterhotel.is/) and are planning on staying there. Once we arrive in Höfn we’ve found Hotel Höfn (https://www.hotelhofn.is/), which has both a restaurant and accommodations on-site, and we absolutely love it. Hotel Höfn has a wonderful restaurant on-site, but there are also several other great dining options nearby. Fortunately, they’re all located in a cozy little cul-de-sac area, so no matter where you choose to eat, you won’t have to travel far!

For those unable to join us in Iceland, don’t worry—we’re planning celebrations back home to share the joy with our friends and family who can’t make it to our big day. Details for these events are still in the works, but we’ll keep you updated as plans come together!
