Keesh's Love Story

For those of you who don’t enjoy a light read, we’ll just say Joshua and Keandra are high school sweethearts turned life partners.

For those who know the happy couple would agree this love story is one that puts "The Notebook" to shame, a tale that makes the love between Jack and Rose look like a kindergarten crush, and will ignite your faith in love more than a Johnny Cash chorus.

The two met in high school through a small pool of mutual friends, Josh in his grade 8 year, Kiki a year above, they had an immediate connection that a grade 8 brain may mistake as friendship. The two would make plans to walk downtown together after school, each going to meet a parent at work for a ride home. Long walks consisted of Josh trying his best to say anything he can to hear an adorable giggle, and Kiks sending all kinds of signals that managed to fly over Josh’s head.

He finally caught the hint when he realized Keandra’s house was a much closer walk than the one she was taking with him downtown.

Keandra and Joshua were in love in their friendship for over a year before Josh mustered up the courage (drank his first six-pack of HEY Y’ALL) and asked the blurry goddess rubbing his back to be his girlfriend.

Maybe it was nerves, maybe it was the drinks, but with Josh barf all over her lap, she respectfully declined until the next day, when he asked again, filled with love and not Hey Y'all.

The couple persevered through all the high school drama young couples go through, their bond growing more and more through each hard time and love growing through the good.

After high school the couple felt off, not with each other, but with their environment they each grew up loving. Josh dreamt of one day moving back to Calgary where he was born but not without Keandra. Their love being so unheard of, there was no path for them to follow so they have been paving their own way the only way they know how; together. They knew no one in the universe has ever felt the love they feel for each other, nor would they understand it.

We will love each other forever and always.
