Keelan and Jason met at Roger Williams University. For those who don't know, Roger Williams is a teeny tiny campus in coastal Rhode Island, and Keelan and her friends spotted Jason during their freshman year (Jason was a year ahead, and if you know how tall he is, you know he's impossible to miss). He was the talk of her table at dinner in the Upper Commons, and they formulated a backstory and nickname for him: "Starving Artist."

In the Spring of 2013, Keelan, an education and history major, walked into her Survey of the Middle East class, and saw Starving Artist sitting a few rows behind her. A few weeks later, he complimented her purple jeans after class, and she called her roommate to declare, "Starving Artist just complimented my pants." After discovering they had several friends in common, the two formally met and bonded over history and music (turns out, Jason was a history major too!). They became fast friends. Keelan started calling him Jason, Jason started asking around to see if she was single, and within months, they found themselves together. It took a full year to figure it out (with plenty of encouragement, patience, and nudging from their friends <3), but by late 2014, they were smooth-sailing.

After Keelan graduated in 2015, she and Jason lived in Boston for a few months, where they, two broke college grads, spent their time doing free internships, entry-level jobs, hanging out in Kevin Daly's living room, buying meals at 7/11, and sleeping on an $80 mattress on the floor of Jason's Medford apartment. They both look back on those uncertain times with only happiness. When they officially ran out of money, they each moved home to New Jersey and Massachusetts, both started working in schools, and visited each other every other weekend. When Keelan moved back to Boston for graduate school, Jason took a six-hour bus ride nearly every weekend from Port Authority to visit her. When she moved to London for her final semester, he met her there with her family, his first time out of the country, and they celebrated her graduation together in Paris.

Within a couple months of their return, Keelan and Jason moved into Jason's Mom's house (thanks, Laura!) in New Jersey, and started hunting for their first real apartment. They moved to Jersey City in 2018, where they still live with their precious baby dog, Lou, who they rescued in February 2021. They've had more adventures together in the past 10 years than can easily fit on a webpage, and have cultivated more love between them than feels like fits into 10 years. They can't wait to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter with all the people who've helped fill the pages of this one.
