A Newport, RI must-see, especially this time of year! It's super touristy, so recommend setting out early or being prepared for some crowds. Wear good walking shoes as it's not all smooth terrain!
Check out Bowen's Wharf. You can book boat rides, and it's just a cute and pretty area to explore to really get a sense of Newport. Another touristy spot, so be prepared!
Check out one of Newport's many beaches. Easton's Beach is closest to our wedding venue, but there are a ton of options in the area. If you're looking for something a little more secluded, we've heard good things about Collins Beach, Bailey's Beach, and Gooseberry Beach. Be sure to check the fees, parking options, etc. before heading over.
There are tons of cute little shops in downtown Newport, along with tons of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants.
A short drive from Newport, visit Greenvale Vineyards (where we came super close to hosting our wedding!). The property is family-owned and operated, and combines historic preservation with winemaking. The tasting room used to be stables, and the property overlooks the water. They often have fun vendors and live music and the team is fantastic. We're big fans of theirs :)
Known for a great diner-style breakfast. Need we say more?
We've heard this place is great for quick breakfast, lunch, coffee, and it's attached to a gallery space!
You simply cannot come to Rhode Island in the summer and not get a Del's. Blasphemy.
This was Keelan's favorite annual visit every spring while attending RWU. They make an amazing clamcake and are the perfect spot for a classic Rhode Island seafood feast.
A Newport classic and a favorite of the Higgins family :) Make a reservation!
We've heard this is a less-touristy, easy-going dinner spot favored by the locals
Known as one of the best restaurants in Newport. Make a reservation!
Cocktails with a view :)
Open Friday-Saturday until 2AM for all your late-night needs.
We'd be remiss wrapping up this list without an ice cream shop on it. One of our first traditions together was establishing "Sunday Night Dessert Night," when we sit down together to enjoy a more lavish dessert – usually ice cream sundaes. We love Brickley's, but if you're looking for something closer to Newport, try Clementine's! We've heard good things and plan to find out ourselves ASAP :)
