Lupe, also known as Pita, is the epitome of the perfect best friend. Keith and Lupe's friendship spans back to 2003, when they were high school companions. Despite not having classes together, they always managed to find a way to have lunch together. Their bond strengthened as they served in the JROTC and drum and bugle corps. Even when Keith moved to California for a number of years, Lupe made frequent flights to visit him. Despite living in the far northern suburbs of Illinois, Keith always makes the effort to visit her with the family. They have been each other's pillars of support from the very start, navigating through relationships, parenthood, and the toughest moments of their lives. They have equally rejoiced in each other's triumphs and wholeheartedly embraced each other's families as their owns, taking on the roles of honorary Uncle and Auntie to their respectful children. Keith is fiercely protective of Lupe, and though she exudes sweetness, she would not hesitate to defend Keith if anyone were to wrong him. It's an absolute honor for Keith to share this special day with his high school prom date and best friend of over 20 years, his Lady of Honor, Lupe.

When Keith and Jesus first crossed paths, Jesus was able to communicate only about 10% in English. However, despite this language barrier, Keith warmly embraced Jesus as a friend. Utilizing translation apps, the two sat face-to-face, navigating through conversations while exploring the city. Over time, Keith made strides in learning Spanish, while Jesus improved his English, all due to the convergence of two individuals from different worlds who shared a fearless determination to form a bond. Since then, Jesus has been an unwavering source of support and love to Keith, Ian, and the entire Thornton family. They love him so much!

Keith and Branden's bond goes far beyond the typical friendship; they have a brotherhood that was forged from their law enforcement careers. Before they even crossed paths in person, their connection as brothers was already established. Without even knowing, they had protected each other multiple times during some shitty situations. As members of the Loyal Warriors Motorcycle Club, they stand as pillars of support for each other, and no one can come between them. Branden and his fiancé Monica hold the esteemed and honorable role of Godparents to Kyler, one of Keith and Ian's sons. Choosing them was a no-brainer for either of the two as it is they love Branden beyond measure.

Keith and Aaron forged a deep connection when they first discussed the nuances of Chicago, both its beauty and its challenges. During their conversation, Keith discovered the impactful work Aaron does for the Black community through his organization, "Seasoned and Blessed." Their shared commitment to breaking barriers and uplifting others forms the cornerstone of their bond. However, it's not just their shared values; their infectious laughter, playful banter, and mutual stupidity for finding humor in situations that don't necessarily warrant it, is truly what sustains their remarkable friendship. Welcoming Aaron into the Thornton family has been a blessing!
