Jake and Kellie met on the dating app Hinge in early August of 2018. The app connects you with others in your area, and they were both living near The Cities when they connected. Jake saw this photo of Kellie, and was immediately smitten! Thankfully, it was a very accurate photo of Kellie and depicted her personality well - pink, blonde, and a true mimosa lover!

Likewise, Kellie was smitten with this photo of Jake (on the right)! She loved his hair, his gorgeous face, and his impeccable eye for fashion!

Then, Jake asked Kellie to meet in person for a drink. Aware of the dangers meeting strangers online, Kellie chose the date, time, and location. She picked for them to meet at Union Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis at 3:00pm on Friday, August 17, 2018. She was working for her aunt Shelly at the time, and she told her where she was going, to also ensure safety!

Jake arrived to the restaurant first, waiting at the otherwise empty bar inside. Kellie arrived moments later, noticing the smokin' hot guy sitting alone at the bar!

"That cannot be him," she thought to herself as she approached him.

They immediately connected, discussing all subjects - family, friends, hobbies, even politics! Kellie was a bit nervous for this date, as she had never been on a "blind" date before - so much so, she drank enough water to have to use the restroom EIGHT TIMES! Jake assumed she was going to the bathroom to discuss with her friends the horrid times she must be having on this date!

Thankfully, Jake's assumption was incorrect, and the two did not want their first date to come to an end. After each enjoying a Fulton Lonely Blonde, they went for a short walk downtown, as there was plenty of daylight to spare.

Jake ended the night asking for Kellie's phone number, and they both realized they did not want to wait to see each other! So, they went on their official first date the very NEXT DAY to the Twins game!

Jake picked Kellie up from her parking spot and we parked near the Twins stadium. Kellie was immediately impressed by Jake's new white Toyota 4Runner! They parked near the stadium and walked to Lyon's restaurant to eat. Another wrong assumption by Jake, he thought Kellie would order a salad with a White Claw. Instead, Kellie ordered the Deloitte Burger with a tall Blue Moon! Needless to say, Jake was impressed with the carnivore Kellie was. Jake ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap (one of his favorites!) with a tall Stella Artois to drink.

After they finished lunch, they both walked over to the Twins stadium to find their seats - Section 110, Row 12, Seats 1 & 2, to be exact. After a couple innings, they got up to walk around the stadium. Kellie hopped on the escalator first, Jake quick to follow. Kellie turned around while riding up the escalator during her chat with Jake - little did she know he was trying to kiss her! The care-free attitude inadvertently rejected his first shot at a kiss.

In typical Minnesota sports fashion, the Twins gave up three runs in the fifth inning, resulting in a loss with a final score of Twins 5, Tigers 7.

Even though the Twins lost, it was the best first date either one of them could have imagined! Little did they know, it was the beginning of forever for their love story.
