You will be traveling to the Big Island of Hawaii, a little piece of heaven that we like to call our "happy place." It is home to the active Kilauea Volcano, the Iron Man 70.3 Hawaii, and some of the most famous, breath-taking beaches in the world. Our wedding will be held on the west coast of the island, otherwise known as the Kohala Coast. This side of the island has fabulous resort areas, restaurants, and the most sunshine-filled days in the entire state of Hawaii!
We have one room block option for our guests at a discounted rate. It is at the same location as all of the Wedding events and festivities. The room block at the hotel is from October 4th – October 8th. The hotel room block can extend up to three days prior to and three days after the block dates, so if you want to extend your trip into dates before or after the room block dates, you will get the same room rate per night! Booking extra nights is based on the availability at the hotel, so keep in mind some days might not be available. If you plan on staying at Hualalai, WE RECOMMEND BOOKING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, as rooms fill very quickly.

We are here and available to help you book a lodging experience for whatever best fits your wants and needs. If you need any guidance or advice, please do not hesitate to reach out to Brandon or Kelly to help you find the perfect place to stay. We understand that people might want to explore other forms of lodging, such as condominiums, townhomes, Airbnb’s, etc. Please check out AirBNB and VRBO, which have several homes and condos in the area that may be good for couples and/or groups. There are multiple affordable options within all resort areas, but we would like to recommend the Waikoloa Beach Resort (same area as the Marriott), which is about 10-15 minutes away from the venue and has the most options. (If you would be interested in staying at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott, please contact Brandon or Kelly, or message us through this website!)
Other resort areas that we recommend would be:
-Hilton Waikoloa Village (15-20 min away from venue, across from the Marriott in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area)
-Mauna Lani (20-25 min away from venue)
-The Westin Hapuna Beach (30-35 min away from venue)
-Mauna Kea (30-35 min away from venue)
-Kona is also an option for people to stay with many affordable options like AIRB&B, VRBO, and even hotels. If you do choose lodging in Kona, we would definitely recommend a car, as it could take about 15-20 minutes to get to the venue depending on where you are staying.
When booking airfare, you will want to fly into Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport Kona, otherwise known as the Kona International Airport (KOA). Most of the major airlines fly into Kona, including Delta, American, Alaska, United, Southwest, and Hawaiian. Most of these airlines offer direct flights, and some connect through Honolulu, Oahu (HNL), Kahului, Maui (OGG) or Lihue, Kauai (LIH). Some of these airlines, such as Hawaiian and Southwest, offer great deals and low fares depending on when you book!
The Kohala Coast on the Big Island is very “spread out” and less populated unless you are in a more major “city” area. Usually, you can find an Uber during the day & at the airport. It can be harder to find Ubers as it gets later into the evening. If you are looking to go explore the island or go out of the resort area, we would highly recommend a rental car. If you plan on just staying at the resort and walking around the resort area, you should be okay with just relying on Uber.
SHUTTLES FOR HOTELS:
There is a mini van that you can book to and from the airport at Hualalai for $61. Otherwise, we suggest UBERing, setting up a car service, or renting a car.
