Once upon a time there was a boy named Nik and a girl named Kelly. Upon graduating high school Nik decided to attend the University of North Dakota and enroll in the aviation program. The year before Nik graduated college Kelly also decided to go to North Dakota after her high school graduation. She also aspired to fly and enrolled in the aviation program.

After graduation, Nik stayed at the university for several years as a flight instructor. Good thing he did, or the two may have never met because Kelly also became a flight instructor after she graduated. After a few short months Kelly was assigned a new office. It happened to be right across from Nik's office. During the day, the two were colleagues and at night they played intramural hockey together. The two quickly became friends after stealing each other's offices several times.

Both would eventually move on to the airlines but they kept in contact. Fast forward to late November 2014. One night texts were exchanged and both realized they we're single. It was quickly decided they should meet up. This was harder than you might think because Nik lived in Minneapolis and Kelly lived in Ft. Lauderdale. Nevertheless, two weeks later Nik flew to Florida and they had their first date walking along the beach. As they say…. The rest is history……

After dating just shy of two years the couple had planned a trip to Paris & Switzerland. While in Paris, Nik said he wanted to have a nice dinner with his lady. The reservations were made at the Crystal Room for the second night in Paris. Nik said since we are all dressed up we might as well go take a few pictures by the Eiffel Tower. As they took pictures and strolled around the tower a horse and carriage appeared in the park. It happened to be for them and it was the first of many surprises Nik had up his sleeve. As they road through the city enjoying each other's company they came to Pont Alexandre III bridge where the carriage came to a stop. They got out to take a few pictures, but instead Nik grabbed Kelly's hands, said a few words and got down on one knee to ask Kelly to marry him. She said, OUI!!!!

To her surprise, Nik had a photographer taking pictures of the whole occasion. He even arranged for the photographer to take engagement photo's the next day when they were in Paris. After the engagement, the two shared some Champaign and eventually made it to the Crystal Room for dinner!
