Shortly after Ron decided to join eHarmony, Kelly initiated the conversation. We decided to casually meet a few days later at Starbucks. Ron wore his dorky bears hat and Kelly was nervous. The conversation flowed and coffee turned into dinner. Ron introduced Kelly to Pho.

After a couple quick first dates it was time for Ron to venture out into the big city of Chicago! Kelly and Ron had the time of their lives going to see Hairspray - the Broadway musical (yes, Ron did enjoy the musical as well).

Kelly and Ron took their first official trip together to New Jersey! Ron met Kelly's Grandma Grabko for the first time. Kelly and Ron also went to the real Broadway in NYC.

Kelly and Ron celebrated their first Halloween together! Since then, it has been a tradition for Kelly and Ron to craft their own costumes every year!

Kelly threw Ron a surprise birthday party! She pulled it off by asking Ron to carve a pumpkin beforehand. Ron had no idea about Kelly's plan!

“Through faith and love, we find our place on the path unwinding.” We celebrated Kelly's birthday with her favorite musical- The Lion King!

Kelly and Ron's first New Years was celebrated virtually, due to Covid! However, Kelly and Ron didn't let that stop them from having a good time!

"Stars, In your multitudes, Scarce to be counted, Filling the darkness, With order and light, You are the sentinels, Silent and sure, Keeping watch in the night." Kelly and Ron went to Ron's favorite Broadway production - Les Misérables! He continues to sing "Stars" to Kelly to this very day. This is because Kelly is Ron's star, and he even had "You are my star" engraved in her engagement ring!

Kelly and Ron visiting Grandma Rutkowski during the "Great Grandmother Tour of 2023". Kelly and Ron try to visit their grandmothers twice year and continue to bond with each other's grandmothers. After all, both grandmothers live in Florida!

Ron's gift to Kelly for Christmas was Cubs opening day tickets - right next door to the dugout! This is jokingly referred to as "Kelly's First Happiest Day of Her Life" - its not like that title should belong to a wedding or anything. The Cubs won that day which was a nice bonus to Kelly's first opening day!

Kelly and Ron went to the Lyons Annual Apple Picking - one of Kelly's favorite family events.

Beaches quickly became a staple of Kelly and Ron's relationship. Kelly and Ron couldn't get enough of traveling together.... so they took a Christmas Cruise!

Kelly and Ron returned to New York City! Ron had originally planned to propose to Kelly here.... but their was a snapfoo with his engagement ring order so it was not ready.....and he therefore needed to rethink his plan.

Hint #1: Ron buys a Go-Pro before our trip. Hint #2: Ron made PLANS for kayaking on the river in Florida and a romantic dinner (which was odd because Ron never plans anything). We went to visit Kelly's grandma in the morning and she had a surprise doctor's appointment that made us slightly late to kayaking. If you know Kelly, she does not like to be late so she drove 80 mph. We made it kayaking and it was amazing. We saw manatees and dolphins within the first 20 minutes of a 3 hour self-guided kayak tour. Ron was going to propose kayaking but thought that might be a dangerous idea with a ring.

After we were done kayaking Kelly was of course tired but was also excited because she thought something might be coming! Ron didn't seem too eager to go anywhere next but casually suggested to go walk on the beach before dinner. Ron set up the go pro and smoothly asked to go take a picture and after pacing back and forth for a few minutes he got down on 1 knee (pushed by the waves became 2 knees)!
