We were introduced by two of our best friends, Sarah and Shannon. Sarah thought we would be a good match, Shannon didn’t….said Kelly was too nice for Bryan! Ha! Ha! Bryan messaged me 2 days later on facebook. We chatted back and forth briefly. I was busy working and wasn’t really interested in being “set up” on a date. Bryan was persistent though, he messaged me again and I finally gave in and messaged him back. From that point on we couldn’t stop messaging each other over the next 2 weeks. I fell in love with him in those 2 weeks and we hadn’t even met yet.

We decided to meet on Saturday, March 27, 2020. It was Bryan’s birthday. He was working on a government contract in Ft. Campbell, Ky. Covid had just happened. The Governor had just shut down the state that Friday. Not knowing anything about covid, I packed my bags and took my chances. I drove from Lexington to Ft. Campbell Friday evening after I got off work. Everything was shut down….restaurants, stores, outdoor activities, etc. I arrived late Friday night at Candlewood Suites Hotel where he was staying. I showed up at his door with a suitcase, a birthday card, and 2 bottles of bourbon for his birthday. One bottle was Wattie Boone & Sons and the other was Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. It must have been the Woodford Reserve that sealed the deal as it is now his favorite bourbon! LOL. We spent the weekend in that hotel, fell in love and began our lives together.
