Derek and I met on the volleyball court at Kegel in New Ulm, MN through mutual friends. We had an immediate connection and it felt like we had known each other for years! We started hanging out with our mutual friends and playing volleyball on the weekends and the rest is history!

June 2020, Derek and I officially had our first place together which was an apartment in Fairmont, MN. We added to our household when we moved in by adopting two kitties named Buzz and Joey. They are definitely cute and and an amazing addition to our little family.

We went on our first vacation in July 2020 to the Black Hills in South Dakota. Both of us fell in love with the area and the endless views while hiking. At the end of the trip we decided we would come back the following year to continue our adventures!

The second vacation back to the Black Hills was one to remember. We invited Derek's sister, Brittany, so we could show her the area we fell in love with. Little did I know that Derek had plans to ask me to marry him :) We hiked almost everyday we were out there! The second day we were hiking and went back to our favorite spot from the previous year. Our spot was on a cliff overlooking a beautiful lake! I went up first and was looking out at the lake (watching people fishing lol) as Derek helped his sister up the cliff. All of a sudden I heard Derek's voice say "Kelsey Marie, will you marry me?" I turned around and I think my face said it all! I said yes I will as tears were running down my face. This will forever be our place!
