The day was December 30th, 2006. Kelsey needed a date to the Palos Verdes High School Winter Formal in a few months, and her best friend Kelly had set her up on a double date with a left-handed pitcher for the Peninsula High School baseball team named Dylan. When they all arrived at Rinaldi's, a sandwich shop in Riviera Village, Kelsey was so excited to meet Dylan. But for the next three hours as the group cruised around the South Bay in Dylan's 1998 Chevy Suburban, Dylan did not say a word to Kelsey. She had no idea if he liked her or not, until later that evening when he sent her a text. And so began their lifelong romance!


Over the next seventeen years, Kelsey and Dylan traversed the country together following their passions and pursuing their career goals. While sometimes those goals put them on opposite sides of the country for a little while, their bond was unbreakable and they eventually settled down together in Washington, D.C. (with their beloved little furry man Gunner).


And the reason you all are here -- On May 19, 2023, Dylan got down on one knee and proposed to Kelsey in Senator Paul's office (thanks to the help of Kelsey's coworkers). She was in sweatpants and had no makeup on, but that's her own fault for not adhering to the business casual dress code.
