Kelsey and Cannon met the way that any college kids meet, at a party. From there on they became a part of the same friend group and spent a lot of time together as really close friends. Countless nights were spent studying, singing Karaoke, winning trivia, and ringing cowbells. They even managed to visit New Orleans every year for Mardi Gras, spring break, or the occasional Italian parade.

After they graduated college, Kelsey stayed in Starkville to teach, while Cannon stayed for graduate school. They were both in Starkville when Covid hit, so naturally, they hung out more and more as the world fell to a standstill. By the time Autumn arrived, the soon-to-be couple had grown incredibly close. Between a beach trip, wedding dates, and long walks on Mississippi State's campus, they fell in love. From there, Kelsey asked Cannon to be her date at a friend's wedding. During the rehearsal dinner, Kelsey actively annoyed Cannon so much about their relationship status that Cannon finally burst out "DO YOU WANT TO GO OUT WITH ME OR NOT?!", which startled Kelsey. She became very anxious about dating her close friend and talked the ears off of multiple friends about what to do. They all said "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" to which neither Cannon nor Kelsey really knew the answer. Fortunately, they both got their acts together and have been happily together ever since.

They have spent a little over 4 years together and enjoyed many more trips to New Orleans, and Disney World, and visited friends in faraway places. Cannon proposed to Kelsey with the ring she always wanted, on the rooftop of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. Her friends and family were found waiting in the downstairs lobby, excited to celebrate their wonderful engagement. Kelsey and Cannon are delighted to mark the beginning of the rest of their lives together in a place that means so much to both of them.
