It’s a Saint Anselm love story a tale as old as time: The “girl next door” falls for the boy who lives upstairs. They’re in all the same classes, form the same group of friends, and spend the majority of their time hoping they pass their latest exams. The story finishes writing itself when they fall more in love, graduate, ride off into the sunset, and live happily ever after. And that’s pretty much what happened here. Well, almost…

Yes, Kelsey and Ian met at Saint Anselm College and fatefully lived in the same building senior year. Their group of friends became inseparable, and they both almost failed out of financial economics. But of course, their story comes with a few more intricacies and perhaps that’s what makes this story so special.

Don’t worry; Kelsey and Ian (barely) passed financial economics and graduated. They dated after school with Ian braving Cape Cod traffic on the weekends and Kelsey buzzing to Ian’s family home when he got a dog. They fell in love with each other’s families and became the topic of every dinner table gathering. But much to the dismay of many of you reading this, life inevitably got busy, and they ended up going their separate ways. Time went on and their lives changed but as luck would have it, their group of friends remained close. Birthdays, annual cabin trips, weddings, concerts, and other celebrations always brought Kelsey and Ian back into the same circle.

At this point, you’re probably waiting for the ever-popular rekindled romance/ happy ending to drop. And they did have a lot of happy stories from their time apart, but the "ride into the sunset" Hallmark movie ending wasn’t ready to happen just yet. Of course, they were always in the back of each other’s minds and kept quiet tabs on one another. Six more years passed with anxious friends and family waiting for the inevitable when a global pandemic hit.

You know how this part of the story goes: isolation, quarantines, no annual cabin trips with friends. It had been some time since Kelsey and Ian had seen each other. But when the world finally started to reconnect, so did they. Both slightly nervous of what may or may not transpire, Ian showed up on the steps of Kelsey’s tiny North End apartment; they hugged, they smiled, and they connected. They were a little bit older, a little bit wiser, but realized they had never stopped loving each other. And that's all that mattered.

I guess you can say the rest is history; three years later, a quaint Beacon Hill apartment, a goofy yellow lab, lots of laughs, adventures, car rides, singing, (bad) dancing, movie nights, camping trips, friends, family, and a whole lot of love-- we’re ready for the best part of the story to start. We are so grateful to have you along as part of our journey and we wouldn’t be celebrating with you if it wasn’t for all your patience, love, and support. We like a good cliff hanger, so we’re glad you all stuck around to see where this story went. Yet, we’re sure you all knew how this one ended anyway ;) Hopefully there’s a good ol’ Cape Cod sunset we can ride off into on the wedding day. Cheers!
