Kelsie & Noah

October 26, 2024 • Murphy, North Carolina

Why Murphy?

No, neither the bride or groom are from here (contrary to people’s wonderings)! Kelsie and Noah actually discovered the little town of Murphy while driving from SC through the mountains to visit Kelsie’s sister and brother-in-law in Nashville, TN (the location of Tori’s PA school). And when they were driving through, they said to each other, “Wouldn’t this be such a cool place to get married?” And as soon as they said that, they passed a little wooden sign on the side of the road that said “McGuire’s Millrace Farm,” and the rest is history!

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP no later than August 26th as that will give the bride & groom and their vendors time to account and prepare for you!

Are there hotel blocks?

Yes! There are two hotel blocks (one at the Best Western of Murphy and one at the Stonebrook Lodge). You can find more information about them if you click the “TRAVEL” tab on the homepage or dropdown menu of this website. But there are also other hotels and cabins in the Murphy area if you are interested in other options!

What should I wear?

The bride and groom are requesting “Semi-Formal/Dressy Casual” attire for the wedding. Nothing crazy like ball gowns and black ties. But khakis or slacks with a button-up shirt for the guys will work (ties & bow ties are completely optional). And then Sunday dresses for the ladies are great. Bonus points for florals, muted/earthy tones, and vintage wear to complement the rustic whimsy of the venue! ;)

Can I bring a plus one?

Only the names and numbers included on the invitation and RSVP are permissible as the venue has a set amount of chairs and plates available. We hope you understand! And we’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Are children allowed?

No, we will not be having children at the wedding (apart from those participating in the wedding party) due to reasons mentioned in the previous Q+A as well as the desire to preserve the sacredness of the wedding ceremony and keep the venue’s china and antiques inside the reception area intact. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and hope you can understand.

Will the wedding be outside?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, but there will be standing heaters and a bonfire provided in case you get cold! And the reception will be inside a temperature controlled building!

Will there be food at the cocktail hour?

Yes! Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served in addition to there being a s’mores bar by the bonfire!

Will there be anything to do during the cocktail hour?

Yes! There will be corn hole and socializing in addition to the beautiful scenery and landscape of the valley to take in and explore!

Will there be a table for gifts?

Yes! If you so kindly and generously decide to bring a gift, there will be a table outside at the door of the reception building. However, if you would rather mail a gift to the bride and groom, that is also welcome! They thank you, sincerely!

Will there be a guest book?

Not a traditional one, but the bride and groom will have a prayer bowl with cards to write prayers & blessings on for their marriage!

What will the reception be like?

There will be dinner, dessert, and dancing with all the usual speeches and typical wedding traditions thrown in!

Will there be alcohol at the wedding?

There will be optional wine and beer available for guests who so choose. But water, tea, and a selection of sodas will also be provided, with the bride and groom using root beer floats for their own toasting glasses!

Are Noah and Kelsie excited to become Mr. & Mrs. Shelton?

AbsoFREAKINGlutely yes! ♡

Are you excited to attend Kelsie & Noah’s wedding day?

We sure hope so. ;) The bride and groom are excited to celebrate with you all!
