Kelsie and Chad met in 2019 when Kelsie moved back to Iowa. Their first date was at Dirty Shirley's in the most casual fashion of simple drinks and watching sports. Fittingly Dirty Shirley's (now Red Frog) became a regular hang out for them during their relationship. After time spent as friends, their friendship turned into a fun and exciting relationship with trips to Vegas, Dallas, Chicago and Orlando. Chad and Kelsie spend most of their time enjoying athletic events, trying new bars and restaurants, going to concerts, relaxing with friends, going on adventures with family and just enjoying time at home.

Kelsie & Chad love to go to live music and the Old 97s have significant importance to them. Their song Question is one song they particularly enjoy listening and dancing to that involves a walk in a park and a special question being asked. On 12/31/2023 Chad asked Kelsie to go for a walk to look at Christmas lights. On the walk he stopped and asked the most important question. Chad proposed with a ring pop in front of the jewelry store where he bought the true engagement ring, it just had not arrived yet. In classic Chad fashion he had a speaker intending to play the song Question, but was too excited (or nervous) and forgot to press play. There were a lot of happy tears and celebrating, with the answer to that question most definitely being YES!
