Kendall and Doug first crossed paths at a Velocity Consulting meeting during Kendall's freshman year of college. Despite the promising start, it took Doug a full year—and a few good laughs—before he finally realized Kendall's name wasn’t Rachel!

Their story took a fun turn when Kendall “recruited” Doug to speak about the accounting program for a college admissions event (really, it was just the perfect excuse to get his number). Doug invited everyone over for tacos afterward, but only Kendall and her roommate showed up. That cozy taco party became the spark that would soon light a wonderful friendship.

From then on, Kendall and Doug were inseparable. They spent countless evenings throwing darts at the Somers House, sharing homemade dinners at Doug's apartment, and having movie marathons to get through those extra cold winter nights.

It wasn’t until the summer of 2020, during the pandemic, that things started to change. Doug spent every weekend at Kendall's apartment, and the two of them would hang out by the pool, cook together, and stay up late around the firepit talking about everything and nothing. By the end of that summer, Kendall finally confessed that her feelings for Doug had grown beyond friendship. Doug’s reaction? “Oh, I guess I’ve never thought about that” (typical guy!). But that was all it took for them to begin this new chapter.

By the next spring, they moved downtown together and later settled into the suburbs. After a few years, they decided to buy a house in Glen Ellyn—a place they would call home and make their own.

Then, in March 2024, Doug proposed to Kendall in the backyard of their house, surrounded by roses and every camera in the house perfectly capturing the moment. Now, they can't wait to start the next part of their journey together and celebrate their story with all of you!
